The Chevy Corvette Centennial concept car (seen in the photo above) is actually the alt mode for Sideswipe. Described as a brave but often rash warrior, Sideswipe was part of the initial crew of Autobots. In the original animated series, Sideswipe and his twin brother Sunstreaker, took the form of Lamborghini sports cars. He later took the form of a 1997 Lamborghini Diablo, 1999 Dodge Viper, and the Cobra Stinger.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen co-screenwriter Roberto Orci has been answering questions on the TFW2005 forums, here are some of the highlights:

About Writing Shia’s hand injury into the Script: “Luckily nothing has to be reshot. Yes, we were on set last week to write it into the movie, not because it’s absolutely necessary, but more because we want to make sure Shia’s hand is protected for the remainder of the shoot…”

On the Leftovers from the First Film: “There were a a couple things we couldn’t do [in Transformers 1 due to] budget, but also because they seemed too “out there” to the studio. Some of those things we get to do in the second movie. After we see it, I’ll point out which.”

In other Transformers 2 news, a new set photo from jalopnik reveals a mystery Corvette concept car. The car is surrounded by Autobots, which leads us to believe this new car is also a good guy in alternative mode.

Bumblebee Concept Car

Jalopnik has close-up shots of the new Corvette concept car which will be seen in Transformers: Rise of the Fallen. The Bumblebee is getting an upgrade. The new car is either a 2010 or 2012 Chevy Camaro Z28. The car was spotted on the set, sending fans on a chase to solve the mystery.

Jetfire Concept Art

Jetfire has been revealed to be a SR-71 Blackbird for the upcoming sequel Transformers: Rise of the Fallen. A bunch of people over at the Don Murphy forums have created fan made concept art based soley on the alt mode.

According to the Saab History website, the Aero-X concept car could make its debut in Transformers 2 as the alt mode of Wheeljack. Saab is a subsidiary of General Motors whose has supplied most of the automobiles used for the movies.
