A new extended trailer for Max Payne has just hit and it looks better than the first trailer. It’s contains even more shots of the hypnotic angels-of-death that continue to puzzle the games’ followers.

Mark Wahlberg had this to say in the latest issue of Total Film magazine, which just happens to have Wahlberg as Payne on the cover:

“They haven’t just ripped off The Matrix, they waited until the technology has been available to do it properly. We’ve been shooting at 1000 frames per second. And I’m not on any wires, either! All the jumping and firing and flipping and landing on my head… That’s all real! We shot it all on film, man!

Everyone is all of a sudden excited for the video game to big screen adaptation of Max Payne, new promotional material has begun to leak out. This batch of six promotional photos and trailer were released on the film’s official website.

Max Payne hits theaters on October 17th.

In the film, Mark Wahlberg plays Max Payne, a former NYPD Detective with internal and external conflicts in a dark, sinister New York City. Three years after the murder of his newborn daughter and wife by a group of junkies, Max is now undercover agent in the DEA and embedded in the Punchinello Mafia family. The video game series is known for its Matrix-like bullet-time, graphic violence and profanity.

Mila Kunis, Jackie from That ’70s Show, will be playing an “assassin” in the movie. If you playing Max Payne game, Max Payne couple with Mona Sax in hunting and killing. Mona was pretty much a bad-ass gun-for-hire in the games.
