Watch the new trailer for Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle director-star Stephen Chow’s new sci-fi comedy CJ7. Running a full two minutes long, this one is loaded with fresh footage and you will see similar scene from Stephen Chow’s previous film.

The sci fi comedy CJ7 has reportedly been pushed back until March 7th. Check out their first trailer in the after the jump.

Stephen Chow’s “CJ7?, formerly known as “A Hope” opens in Asia January 31st, 2008, according to Asian Popcorn.

Film investor, the China Film Group Corporation, announced the decision, according to The Beijing News report. Agent of the comedy star says that Stephen Chow is still busy editing the film, which he has been working on for about a year. He explains that fantasy film is a new field for Chow and he has to put in a lot of time on the post-editing. The emphasis of the director’s work is the stunts, according to the publicist, however, the selling point of the film is the story itself, as story-telling is just Chow’s forte.

Hong Kong actor and director Stephen Chow’s new film‘CJ7’ (previously titled ‘A Hope’) is a sci-fi comedy about a poor Chinese laborer and his son. Stephen Chow stars as the laborer while Kitty Zhang Yuqi, a rising star in mainland China, makes her feature film debut as a beautiful teacher who is actually an alien. Stephen Chow’s son is played by a 9-year-old girl called Xu Jiao. It is said that Xu Jiao is the lead actress in the movie.

Stephen Chow’s “A Hope” (aka “Long River 7″) has yet changes title to “CJ7″.

“CJ7,” which also was scripted and helmed by Chow, was produced through his shingle Star Overseas in association with mainland China co-producer China Film Group. Sony previously handled Chow’s “Kung Fu Hustle” and also inked a multi-picture production deal with Star Overseas in May. Pic will be produced by Chui Po Chu (”Kung Fu Hustle,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) and is expected to begin shooting this year. Sony Pictures Releasing Intl. will handle distribution of “Jump” and all future pics in the deal.
